Our boss, Prof. Ir. Dr. Rosli Bin Hamir, Vice President of OUM, was given a surprise birthday celebration by all of us Directors of OUM Regional Learning centres from all over Malaysia. It was held shortly before our quarterly meeting at OUM Main Campus.
It was a very impromtu arrangement mooted by Prof. Dato' Dr. Nik Najib, director of Kelantan Learning Centre. All of us chipped in to buy a cake and an original hand made batik from Kelantan.
Prof. Rosli in his short speech, thanked all the directors and assistant directors who were present.
The meeting was the second this year to coincide with the 10th Convocation of Open University, which will be held from 18th June 2011 to 20th June 2011. More than 4,500 graduates will receive their scrolls during this convocation. Todate, more than 20,000 out of 100,000 students of OUM has graduated from the various programmes since 2001.
During the same meeting, Sdra Lamjin, Director of OUM Sabah, presented the donation collected from stduents from Sabah to Prof. Rosli for victims of landslide tragedy in Selangor recently.
