Director of OUM Perak Regional Learning Centre was bestowed Lion of the Year Award

The Director of OUM Perak Regional Learning Centre, Richard Ng, was bestowed the "Lion of The Year Award" for the year 2007/2008. The award was presented in conjunction with Lions Club of Perak Silver State's Installation of the President and its Board of Directors. The ceremony was held last Sunday August 17, 2008.

The award was given in recognition of his excellent service for the club where he was the 1st Vice President. Besides the award, Richard Ng was also awarded Project Chairman award for several community projects which include Flower Drum Song Musical and SightFirst project. He played a vital role in the club's fund raising campaign to help the poor and senior citizen regain their sights again.

He has also assisted the club in other projects such as the Merdeka Walk, Raya celebration with the orphans from Rumah Anak Yatim Darul Aitam, Higher Education and Lifelong learning and also the Internet Awareness talk.

Richard Ng is actively involved in community projects since taking his new role at Open University Malaysia. According to him, "the community projects are important to OUM as we want to prove that OUM is a caring university."

it is a good idea to our alumni.i'm looking for someone from alumni to try having blodd drive in Taiping after this coming semester.
